Mic Pre and 3-Band EQ

The H2 Audio Helios 0011 is an exact recreation of the legendary Helios consoles of the 1960s. The original channel module from so many iconic studio recordings of the past. It includes the 2128 preamp circuit and 3-band EQ originally designed by Dick Swettenham. The resulting module is the most sonically accurate version of the Helios 0011 to grace the pro audio world.

This new module features the original Helios 2128 preamp circuit with 70dB of gain in 5dB increments. 20dB pad, Lustraphone input transformer. A balanced line in section is also featured. Inductor based LF/MF EQ section with selectable LF and MF and fixed 10Khz HF controls. Also included: Phase control, EQ bypass and selectable High Pass filter with original 40hz and 80hz filter points. The H2 Audio 0011 has an added output amplifier with output transformer, all of original Helios design, allowing the H2 Audio 0011 to drive a 600 ohm load up to 25dB before clipping (owners of classic Helios modules will agree that this was a major issue when trying to use a classic Helios in a custom rack). 48V phantom power is supplied by switch on the H2 Audio 8 channel rack.

Note: The H2 Audio 0011 microphone preamp/EQ needs a 0011 Series rack to function (H2 Audio 002 rack or H2 Audio 008 rack).

The Helios 0011 “type 69” channel module was the heart of the most legendary recording desks of the late 60’s British Invasion. Helios is one of the first console manufacturers that mass-produced mixing desks for the recording studio industry in England and eventually worldwide. The list of artists whose music passed through a Helios desk between 1964 to 1980 is staggering, and the sonic characteristics are synonymous with a whole generation of music.

H2 Audio has painstakingly recreated the original Helios 0011, adhering to the original design and sound. In doing so, H2 Audio has created the most sonically accurate version of this recording industry legend to date.
