FET Comp/Limiter

The H2 Audio H760 is a spot-on re-creation of the acclaimed Audio Design & Recording-designed FET compressor modules that Helios featured in its '60s-era consoles.

Undoubtedly one of the best-kept secrets in recording, the F760 designed by AD&R and licensed by Helios is one of the most classic FET comp/limiters ever made. Sold as modules fitted into classic Helios desks and most famously heard on Led Zeppelin’s ‘When The Levee Breaks’ drum recording. A very easy-to-use unit with fixed threshold and 5 pre-selected ratios, selectable attack and release times and separate Limiter threshold.

The H760 will allow the user quick adjustment of dynamic control of any audio program and maintain the classic sound of a British FET compressor/limiter.

Note: The H2 Audio H760 FET Comp/Limiter needs a 0011 Series rack to function (H2 Audio 002 rack or H2 Audio 008 rack).

The Helios 0011 “type 69” channel module was the heart of the most legendary recording desks of the late 60’s British Invasion. Helios is one of the first console manufacturers that mass-produced mixing desks for the recording studio industry in England and eventually worldwide. The list of artists whose music passed through a Helios desk between 1964 to 1980 is staggering, and the sonic characteristics are synonymous with a whole generation of music.

H2 Audio has painstakingly recreated the original Helios 0011, adhering to the original design and sound. In doing so, H2 Audio has created the most sonically accurate version of this recording industry legend to date.
